Bar Charley is a bit of a hidden gem -- although it's always bustling so maybe it's not that hidden! It's a perfect place to meet up for a drink and some apps, but it also has a great full menu if you want a full meal. My favorites here are the chicken paillard and the potato hash brown!

Attended happy hour here on Saturday - points for having HH on the weekend! Tried the Giggle Water which is like a Blue Hawaiian citrusy drink - it was delish! The bartender also made me a special drink called a Namayo and I think that might be my new go to - yum! The wings were really good, however the fries weren't my favorite just because I'm not big on loaded fries like that. This bar has a dive bar feel to it with the lights low and playing some good tunes! I really enjoyed this spot and will be back!

Bar Charley in DC is a bustling go-to, whether it's happy hour or weekend brunch. My first time was for happy hour, and it was packed--clearly a popular spot for the after-work crowd. Their cocktails are the main draw here, with options that range from classic to adventurous, though some drinks lean heavy on the mixers (hello, orange juice). The Mai Tai is a favorite, and the vibe is energetic, with friendly service and a cozy, almost speakeasy-like interior. Brunch has the same lively atmosphere, and their signature dishes, like the Crab Benedict and French Toast, are crowd-pleasers that bring people back. Reservations are a must for peak times, especially if you want a spot on their quaint outdoor patio. Bar Charley's perfect if you're in the mood for a vibrant, sociable experience--and if you're okay with a bit of a wait for quality drinks and a unique setting.

I came for happy hours deals. I ordered the burger, fries, and daiquiri all from the Happy Hour page. Staff were friendly and kept checking in on me. Thank you bartenders for making me feel welcomed.

Cannot beat the price of the happy hour punch here! It was only $6, a rare find in this city. Some people in my party ordered food and it was good from the bites I had. I would return!

Stopped by to use my Guide to Imbibe. Enjoyed the Sage Advice, along with a cinnamon bun. Both were delicious. Sat at the bar, since I was dining solo. The bartender was lovely and welcoming. She provided great conversation and recommendations. The bar was empty, even though it was during brunch service.

Great bar food and drinks! We sat in the back patio but felt great with the fans on. Cute little place in DC. Our kids ate the burger and satay chicken. Someone please tell them what Korean fried chicken looks like. We came on a Monday when it's happy hour all day. We only saved a couple dollars so it's not really worth it.

Really enjoyed the brunch. The host was pleasant and seated us promptly. Although it's a small place, you don't get a crowded feeling. The food was really good. The beignets had good flavor (not doughy or oily) and were surprisingly small, more like bites. The American breakfast, quiche, and burger were all throughly enjoyed. I would recommend for sure. The experience was reduced my one star because of our server. -- wasn't attentive and had to be flagged for almost everything we wanted. Never mentioned a name. We asked for fries without seasoning or salt, and she said "they are not seasoned." You know we received fries with salt, right? Never asked how our food was and things of that nature.
